Cinzia Ruffinengo was born in Turin, and lives and works in Moncalieri (Turin).
Philosophically, Cinzia Ruffinengo makes reference to the Centre for Aquarian Philosophy in Milan run by Pyare Lal Bedi (Baba Bedi XVI), and the Astaros Group that "proposes to delve within, in psichyc key, research for expressivity through artistic commitment, principally in the fields of drawing, writing, the study of symbols and of the planets."
In painting, she has made her view of operating emotive at the school run by Sergio Albano, a Turinese artist possessed of thought out and conscientious research, of undoubted transfiguratory vitality.
What are the aims of her constantly developing research and what are the aims of this "psychic" art? The painter herself will explain. Aims such as "harmonic and creative growth, as a step for more universal growth for the whole of creation. It is clear that only the individual aware of his own ego, of his own blocks and escape mechanisms, can form a rapport with greater security with others, increasing one's own "social" awareness. Wath is "different" as this point offers a moment for dynamic comparison and not of rupture or impedence of the natural course of its development. The experience of psychic art is one of the possible ways by which one can identify oneself with this path."
Antonio Oberti writes, appreciating the gift of her intuition and instinctiveness: "Parting from natural harmonic potentialities and from moments of reflection and states of mind, Cinzia Ruffinengo is able to make a concrete-cum-abstract reality come alive and palpitating. A quiver of purified and transfigured forms, of sensations and substantial values, of crystallised colours that are raised into extremely ardent swoops of reds, blues, yellows and greens.
Effectively, the realizations of the Turinese artist act as a lever upon expressive research and upon the imagination to grasp the hidden dimensions of reality, favouring it without reserves to enrich it with seductive and strongly expressive chromatic gamuts. Acrylics, understood as contents and expression, masterfully respond to her possibilities for believing in a deeper space: they are moments of immediate astonishment, unexpected rapture, followers of a deliberately re-evocative stylisation of the secret memories of time.
And certainly Cinzia Ruffinengo reveals herself as a painter of backbone, mistress of volumetrical rendering and of those sonorous and incisive notes that, through the enchantment of her spatial rendering, make the pictorial material palpitating, already rich as it is in itself.
Exalting the clear differences of various situations, her landscapes, some even imaginary, existentially express the affinity between human ideals and those artistic, with results that consolidate her youthful awareness and her own language. Therefore, researching space and possible horizons, togheter with the full correspondence of colour and light, she feels the need to open herself up towards limitless worlds, towards serene silences, in search of a clean message, expressed without rhetoric and bombast.
The illusionistic effect of each painting of hers is therefore symbolic, interpreted with intensity of spirit and refractory as regards any preconceived idea. Thus it is that, from that flavour of perceptive suggestion, all the energies represented by natural reality are liberated, raising the chromatic mass to an emotional essence of thought and passion."
Her thoughts on art and life
"Art is life for me, and life is an art. The art of living is what forms my research which, through errors, study, testing, advances and is expressed. There is no division between my life, art and research. It is a binding, unbreakable totality. And a picture should express all arts; when I will succeed in expressing, through a picture, not only its colour, but also its music, its perfume and its temperature and its wavelenght, then perhaps, I will have succeeded in really expressing something. For now, I carry out research with my anxiety."
